MAC LIPSTICK: TAUPE ON THE LIPS AS ALWAYS
After a while I always get this desire of needing something new in my life. I don't know what it is or how to get it but it's like a longing for change. It's like after your birthday and christmas or after you've decorated your room, that automatic feeling of having a bunch of new things at once and just appreciating it.
Here are some ways to 'REFRESH YOUR LIFE' when it's not your birthday and you can't afford that quick weekend away.
BEAUTY & FRAGRANCE
Let's start with the most obvious, new beauty products. I have recently found a new darker lip colour that differs from my everyday nude and I have A. been wearing it everyday and B. feeling like Rihanna when I'm wearing it. A small switch up with beauty products and trying new looks everyday will help make you feel like a new woman, along with a new fragrance to cling to your body all day. 'You smell good' top 3 compliments ever right?
Here are some looks you should try this winter to switch it up
A. A sleek ponytail and a red lip
B. A Side parting with a nude lip and slightly darker lip liner
C. A dark lip and curls for a true Winter glam look.
I recently moved some things around in my room, got a desk and some new cushions and ta-da, a new space that still represents me but has just had a little TLC, I automatically felt better. Your space always needs to feel like your sacred place, it's where you rest your head and should feel safe but it can get a little boring if you don't switch it up every now and then. You can move your bed to a different part of your room, or add some elements such as new fashion pillows, a few plants or just simply getting new bed sheets.
YOUR MIND & SOUL
If I don't feel like I'm working my brain or if I don't learn any new information I begin to feel unfulfilled in my life. I recharge by reading both novels and self-help/motivational books, watching films that leave me feeling something (the best kind of films, whether it is joy, sadness or motivation), meditating to give my mind a daily break from the pressures of the world, at home yoga or by simply by leaving technology alone for a little while. Any of these will do wonders for the mind, body and soul.
I cannot lie, I love a routine but the best part of them is doing something outside of them for a while and letting your hair down. I feel so happy when my routine changes up a little bit, it can be minor changes like meeting up with a friend for a nice lunch, going to a painting class or something bigger like a weekend away or just buying that expensive self gift you've been wanting for a while. These moments outside of your routine are crucial to your well-being, they build you up and keep you feeling 100% those weeks when you feel like your routine is holding you captive.
Your life deserves that little refresh from time to time and if you do a few of these all at once I guarantee you will feel nothing short of amazing.
